Collections Part I

One of our favourite things is to collect treasure. Kat and I are avid car-booters and we are now passing this habit on to our children.
When we go out on walks, on holidays or just exploring we love to collect things. You can also make collections at home with buttons, jewels and and sparkly bits you have lying around.

Spring flowers, shells, pretty glass found in the sand, leaves, dead starfish, feathers and plastic from the beach. Its a great way for you to get the kids to learn about their surroundings and also walk without too much moaning.

As they get older, when you get home you can give them a board, tray or plate and they can make the treasure they've collected into a display and photograph it themselves.

Its a lovely reminder of your day and great fun.

Happy hunting love Tess x

A Cornish Tale

Just thought we would share a few snaps of our lovely Easter holiday and remember how lucky we are to have such amazing friends and families and how lucky we are to be able to stay in such a beautiful part of the world.
We LOVE Cornwall X.

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mothers day to all the beautiful mothers out there.

It's a poignant day for me as my Mum hasn't been around for a very long time but now that I'm a mum this day has a new meaning, and it's a really great meaning. Happy Mothers day Mum, love you always. Kx

P.S. Love this article for one thing you should say to your kids, and it's an easy one to remember as it's usually true!

Happy Mothers Day to all you wonderful mothers.

Becoming a mother I finally realised what my mum went through, why she said the things she said and has made me appreciate her more than ever - if that is possible. She is a true inspiration to me and if I'm even half as good as her I'll be happy.

Mum you are the best and I love you more than you'll ever know.Tx

Best friends

The Easter Bunny is coming

Yippee! Easter is just round the corner. I can't wait to take this little man egg rolling again. Two years ago we were in Devon and had a big egg decorating session and then a mass egg roll down the biggest hill we could find. All the while the Easter bunny hopped in and left a load of Easter goodies in the garden. So we had a brilliant egg hunt and all the kids had a basket full of treasure.

The best thing about this is year is that we will be in Cornwall...wahoo!
So we can roll the eggs down the garden to the beach where we can have a massive easter egg hunt, I'm very excited, more so than anyone else!

Have a lovely Sunday xx

Elfin

Elfin, Late summer 2008, Cornwall

I can't believe my beautiful little girl is nearly seven.

When she joined us all those years ago we all just sat and looked at her incredulously for about three days. We were the first of the gang to have kids and it just seemed other worldly to have a baby in the room with us! She has brought such joy and pleasure, a million smiles and quite a few tears (when she wouldn't sleep) ...I can't wait to go on holiday to Cornwall with her again at Easter x

Summer sun

I really needed to cheer myself up as this constant rain is starting to wear me down and I needed some sun. So I just started to look through our holiday photos and suddenly felt much better! We went to southern Spain in September and rented a little cottage near Vejer de la Frontera, a beautiful little village on the top of a hill.
We went exploring and our favourite discovery was Bolonia beach which had the most incredible sand dune at one end, it was amazing for dune jumping and we all felt a bit like Lawrence of Arabia. It really was a lovely little holiday.

Wishing we were there now, love tess xx
