Around The World With Mouk

I'm not sure why I didn't get a shot of the cover of this lovely book before I wrapped it up for Christmas but hey ho there's plenty of lovely interior pictures for you to enjoy. I bought this for Zeph this year but I happen to know quite a few little people who own it. It's just such a cool book with so much gorgeous detail to pour over. It reminds me of the legendary Richard Scarry series which used to keep me entertained for hours as a kid. The book follows little Mouk the bear on his travels through eleven countries around the world, learning about different cultures through all the colourful characters he meets. As a bonus the book also includes reusable stickers so your little one can interact with the scenes and have adventures of their own.

You can also watch Mouk as he has his own tv series!

The Christmas Dolls House

The Christmas Dollshouse

What a great Christmas present for a three year old. I struck it lucky back in the summer and found this dollhouse at a local car boot for just £7! It was 'beautifully' decorated with grubby wallpaper and thick red carpet so I stripped that all out and sanded down the inside. I scoured ebay for furniture (try searching for vintage dolls house) and managed to find nearly everything relatively cheap apart from a cooker which is a future goal. The tiny moomin mugs are actually christmas decorations, the bathroom set was found by lovely Lisa in a Barcelona fleamarket and the bunting was from Tiger for just £1. In these photos we were playing with penguin but the house is actually the perfect mouse house... more on that another day.

Autumn Fun Part II

Well after our adventure at the park we of course had to do some leaf printing, cliched yes but surely a right of autumn passage.

We cut round the leaf prints with serrated scissors to string into a garland later and turned the rest of the leaves into some cute leaf folk.

...and when all the leaves were gone we drew some autumn hedgehogs!

Autumn Fun Part I

We've been having some really lovely adventures since the summers end, back in October we visited one of our favorite Brighton locations, Stanmer Park. It's a beautiful place to wander, especially in the autumn when the trees are surely at their most beautiful and as well as the fallen leaves to play in there were rope swings and trees to climb. We usually just walk and play but for the first time ever we also visited the big house for hot chocolate by the open fire which we completely recommend. They even allowed the naughty dog in!
